Surgical obturators play a critical role in the rehabilitation of oral neoplasia patients by restoring essential functions such as speech and swallowing, providing structural support, and enhancing facial aesthetics. This review explores the multifaceted role of obturators, detailing the innovative design considerations and fabrication techniques that improve patient outcomes: material selection, structural design, and the integration of advanced technologies. Furthermore, the review highlights the rehabilitation process, from immediate post-surgical care to long-term maintenance, including speech therapy and psychological support. These studies demonstrate the effectiveness of obturators in improving the quality of life while addressing common challenges and complications. Future directions in obturator research and technological advancements are also discussed. This comprehensive overview underscores the importance of surgical obturators in the holistic care of oral neoplasia patients.
